Accountability Accountability for facilities includes the standards, assessments, and considerations for health, safety, educational risk, and other factors, associated with PK – 12 public school buildings and grounds.
It involves systems for measuring and communicating conditions, and the authority to encourage or enforce changes in school design, construction, operations and maintenance.
With internal controls and external oversight of school facilities management, the district is better able to manage the balance of private and public interests.
When facilities are a part of the education accountability framework, resource allocation of operating funds will be better informed.
